‘I have protected them with Forgetting,’ Sol explained, ‘They will die to remember what they were born to forget. And they can re-join the game and forget all over again if they wish. Or they can come back home, back into One and help the ones who are struggling with The Forgetting. But I have left Initiates of Three, and Three there must always be. They do not have the curse of Forgetting. They have the gift of Remembering. And they will re-light this gift in others when they are ready. That way no-one will Forget forever. If that ever happened then the world would slide and burn into a fire that no mind could withstand. And then I would surely die.’

“They will die to remember what they were born to forget.” That’s a theme I’ve been working on for many decades. Using the sun as the central force between the forgetting and the remembering throws a different angle into the mix. I like it. And compliments to the imagery.
